Concrete Floor Systems
Concrete floors have been a staple service of Peter Benjamin Surfaces for the last 25 years. Concrete is a cost effective, easily customizable medium for your floor needs. From terrazzo to concrete overlays when it comes to custom concrete floors, Peter Benjamin Surfaces is your concrete floor solution.
Decorative concrete floor systems
Concrete floor designs are one of the hot new trends for concrete patios, concrete floors, entryways, pool decks and more. From expansive new homes with elaborate concrete driveways to budgeted one-room remodels showcasing a stunning, stained concrete floor, the attraction is continuing to grow when it comes to using concrete for decorating. Concrete is no longer plain, grey and boring, it is now thought of as a beautiful decorative element.
Polished concrete floors have a glossy, mirror-like finish and come in many different design options. You can choose nearly any color, create patterns with saw cuts, or embed aggregates or interesting objects into the concrete prior to polishing. The reflectivity of the floor can also be controlled by using different levels of concrete polishing. At Peter Benjamin Surfaces let us create your dream polished concrete floor to match your decor and lifestyle.
Dyed concrete floors contain coloring agents that can achieve vibrant tones simply not possible with stains alone. Dyes can get the applicator into more vibrant colors such as yellow, blue, and purple just to name a few. Dyed concrete offers our clients another way to beautify their home or office concrete floor with a lasting, custom, brilliant look that matches their taste and decor to perfection.
Stained concrete floors
Staining concrete imparts a luxurious richness that can’t be achieved by any other coloring medium. Rather than produce a solid, opaque effect like paint, stains permeate the concrete to infuse it with luminous, translucent tones that vary depending on the surface they are applied to and the application techniques used. The results of our staining process can mimic everything from polished marble to tanned leather to natural stone or even stained wood. Let Peter Benjamin Surfaces show you how we can use stained concrete techniques to make your floors vision a reality!
Stamped concrete floors
Stamped concrete has become a popular choice for many of our clients. Stamped concrete offers a wide array of options when it comes to concrete pattern and concrete colors. Another factor contributing to its popularity is its price. The cost of stamped or imprinted concrete is often considerably lower than the materials it is a substitute for. Stamped concrete, often called textured or imprinted concrete, is concrete that replicates stones such as slate and flagstone, tile, brick and even wood. Ideal for beautifying pool decks, driveways, entries, courtyards, and patios, stamped concrete is the perfect outdoor paving choice.
Concrete resurfacing saves money, conserves resources, and eliminates disposal problems related to creating a new surface. If your concrete floor is in good condition but just needs a facelift, you can also stain, stencil or engrave it to improve its appearance. Let the team at Peter Benjamin Surfaces make your old concrete floor look like new at a fraction of the cost and disruption of a new floor.
Exposed aggregate concrete floors
Exposed-aggregate concrete floor surfaces are obtained by placing concrete and then removing the outer “skin” of cement paste to uncover decorative coarse aggregate (either batched into the concrete mix or seeded onto the surface). Because of its durability and skid resistance, an exposed aggregate finish is ideal for most flat-work including sidewalks, driveways, patios and pool decks.
Exposed shell concrete floors
Peter Benjamin Surfaces offers a exposed shell concrete floor surface that is perfect for many outdoor uses. Combined with beach glass, or precious stone this system offers an ornamental visual passion to an area as a result of its random design and colors.
Micro-topping/overlay concrete floors
Even the best concrete floors have their imperfections in the form of cracks, discoloration, pop outs, and other flaws. While repairing concrete can help fix some of these flaws, the repairs themselves can be noticeable and unattractive. Many people think their only recourse for improving the look of unsightly concrete is to rip it out and replace it. Thanks to modern micro-topping and overlay systems an economical alternative to a tear-out is a decorative concrete overlay with a Peter Benjamin Surfaces micro topping solution.

Concrete Floor Polishing
Has your floor lost its shine? Has the beautiful floor you remember been replaced by a dull floor? At Peter Benjamin Surfaces we can bring the glow back. With our old world polishing and burnishing technique’s, we can make your old concrete floor look like new!
Concrete Floor Burnishing/Diamond Pad Polishing
The best way to maintain floor finish shine is high-speed burnishing. This process is done with a rotary machine that has a pad turning speed of more than 1000rpm but more commonly done at 1500 to 2000rpm. Burnishing floor finish is helpful for two reasons. First it makes floor finish shine but more important, it makes the floor easier to keep clean. This is because it smooths out the scratches in the floor, removing areas for dirt to settle. Once dirt gets is in the scratches, it is difficult for regular cleaning to remove and with foot traffic will continue to further scratch the floor.
